Grinding vs. Removal — Two Different Jobs
There are two ways to deal with a stump, and the right one depends on what you're doing with the ground. Stump grinding uses a cutting wheel to chip the stump down several inches below grade, leaving grindings you can rake off or use as mulch and soil you can seed or sod right over — perfect for lawns, landscaping and replanting. Stump removal (grubbing) pulls the entire stump and root ball out of the ground — the right call when you're pouring a slab, building, or need a truly clean surface where nothing can rot and settle later.
One Stump or a Whole Field
We handle everything from a single stubborn stump in a Schertz backyard to a whole field of stumps left after land clearing or a storm. If we've just mulched or cleared your property, stump work is a natural add-on — tell us up front whether you want to mow over the ground or build on it, and we'll grind or grub accordingly. Cleanup and backfilling the holes is available so you're left with a finished surface, not a minefield.
